Melvin R. Solomon is managing partner of the firm. A nationally recognized immigration law specialist, Mr. Solomon offers more than three decades of practical, hands-on experience. He has lectured frequently and published extensively articles on various immigration law topics. Mr. Solomon has been named one of the Best Immigration Lawyers in the United States and in New Jersey by various national and state bar publications.

Among Mr. Solomon’s numerous publications is “Family-Sponsored Immigration”, which can be found at the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) Publications Online Bookstore. He also served as a speaker on a core curriculum panel entitled “Immigration Visa Processing Part 1: Family, Special Immigrant & Diversity Visa Lottery.” For the past 12 years, Mr. Solomon has been an annual speaker at the National Conference of the American Immigration Lawyers Association.

Mr. Solomon is a graduate of Rutgers College and Rutgers University School of Law. He is a past Chairman of the New Jersey Chapter of the American Immigration Lawyers Association.



Nadine Baldeo-Amaya

Nadine Baldeo-Amaya has been with the law firm of Parsekian and Solomon since May 2003. She graduated with a B.A. in Criminal Justice from Seton Hall University in May 2001, Magna Cum Laude, and a minor in social work. Ms. Amaya then attended New York Law School where she received her J.D. in May 2004. Prior to becoming an associate at Parsekian and Solomon, Ms. Amaya clerked with Melvin Solomon from May 2003 to July 2004.

Ms. Amaya specializes in family-based immigration, including asylum, battered spouse, fiancé and waiver cases. She also handles appeals to the Board of Immigration Appeals and the federal courts. In addition, Ms. Amaya offers representation in the following matters: adoptions, guardianships, name changes, expungements and divorces.

Ms. Amaya is a member of the American Bar Association and the American Immigration Lawyers Association.



Verna B. Fortunato

Verna B. Fortunato is a first generation Filipino American. She received a B.A. from Boston College in 1992 in History and Spanish. She received a J.D. in 1997 from New York Law School. From 1997 to 1998 she was a law clerk for the Honorable Marguerite T. Simon, New Jersey Superior Court, Chancery Division, Hackensack, New Jersey. Ms. Fortunato has over eight years of experience specializing in family based immigration, including battered spouse, widow, adoption, and fiancé cases, asylum applications and removal and deportation proceedings. She is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association. For the past seven years she has been an associate at Parsekian & Solomon, P.C. She is proficient in Spanish.
